In order to enhance the professional ability of the team of young translators of the Shanghai Maritime Court, in the morning of December 10th, Shanghai Maritime Court invited Mr. Martin Davies, Director of the Maritime Law Research Center of Tulane University and a professor of law, to give a lecture.
President Wang Tong extended a warm welcome to Professor Davis and his party, and held discussions with Professor Davis on issues such as further enhancing cooperation, expanding the international influence of China's maritime justice, and the training of talents. Afterwards, Professor Davis gave a course to our team of young translators around the US Maritime Security System. The team members and Professor Davis conducted in-depth exchanges on the differences between the US and China maritime security systems, management of ships after arrest. The discussion was lively in the lecture, and the team members said that they had benefited a lot. Vice president Huang Songtao of the Maritime Court, Associate Professor Lin Jiang, a mentor outside the team of young translators, and relevant personnel from the Ministry of Political Affairs attended.
